Nemeth in a Box: Students receive a box in the mail filled with braille materials. They join other students for seven lessons that provide a review and/or introduce them to Nemeth Code symbols at the middle school level. At the same time, they review math concepts in an engaging way. They try their hand at a maze, Jeopardy, Which One Doesn’t Belong? and other interactive activities.

Mission INSPIRE: We wanted students to have a science fair experience, so we created Mission INSPIRE. After receiving a box of materials in the mail, the “rocket scientists” (AKA students) joined “Mission Control” (AKA our teaching team) and together built a rocket. The rocket scientists then developed a hypothesis and built a second rocket to test their hypothesis. After they collected data, they presented their findings to Mission Control.

Mathlete Competition: We have created four competitive rounds during which mathletes (6th-12th graders) demonstrate their skills in solving math problems and reading and writing expressions, equations, and inequalities in a math braille code.
